About the club

We are an active scuba diving club based in central Essex.  The club was formed in 1970, we currently have about 100 members of which about 70 are active divers who range in experience from newly qualified Ocean Divers to Trimix and Rebreather divers. They range in age from teenagers to divers in their sixties and come from all walks of life. We meet regularly both socially and for training.

The club actively trains members both for the diving qualifications and Skill Development Courses such as Oxygen Administration, Boat Handling, Nitrox and Diver Cox'n.

We organise a number of week, weekend and day boat dives over the year with the main season starting in April and running through to October.

Besides our main diving activities members are also involved with Chelmsford Underwater Archaeological Unit and Chelmsford Octopush Club.

Apart from diving we are very active socially with regular meetings and many organised social events such as parties, theatre and show trips, non-diving holidays.
